Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny, little town that is a bit sleepy. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of diverse communities. People who have never known about it may confuse it with a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently mentioned, but her brief stay was not. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. Her early ambition was to be a dancer but a growth spurt resulted in her outgrowing her dance partners. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. When I reached the height of all my male partners, I stopped. Bruce was among the former dancers who turned into acting. The teacher she had at high school was what pushed her into the right direction. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the school's annual production. She auditioned and was eventually cast as the leading role of Anne of Green Gables. This led to a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. Since then, she's appeared in over 60 productions both large and small. Most notable was when she landed the role of Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale, a series that was filmed over ten years ago.
